Swift Virtual Counselling Professional Online Counselling Services
Hello, I’m Donna, founder of Swift Virtual Counselling.
I provide professional, confidential online counselling for young people and adults across the UK and worldwide. My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and tailored to your individual needs. I work at your pace, creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore the issues you are facing without fear or pressure.
My Experience
My journey into therapeutic counselling began over 20 years ago.
I bring 15 years of experience working within the criminal justice system, specialising in drug and alcohol addiction support. This has given me extensive experience supporting individuals facing complex challenges, trauma, addiction recovery, and life transitions.
I work holistically, helping clients address the root causes of their difficulties rather than masking symptoms with unhealthy coping mechanisms. My aim is to support you in achieving lasting growth, resilience, and self-empowerment.
I work with both young people and adults and offer a flexible, understanding approach suited to your personal circumstances.
My Qualifications & Professional Memberships
Accredited Register Member – NCPS
Children and Young People’s Therapist (CYP) Accredited Register
Diploma with Distinction in Counselling & Psychotherapy Advanced (2006)
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner
Drug and Alcohol Practitioner – 15 years’ experience within the criminal justice system
I work within clear professional boundaries and ethical frameworks, guided by core counselling values:
Confidentiality
Congruence
Non-judgmental practice
Active listening skills
Therapeutic Approaches I Use
I integrate different evidence-based counselling approaches to suit your individual needs:
Person-Centred Therapy
Developed by Carl Rogers, Person-Centred Counselling is a compassionate, client-led approach. It focuses on creating a safe, accepting space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely.
This approach is particularly helpful for:
Anxiety and stress
Depression
Low self-esteem
Life transitions
Relationship challenges
Personal growth and self-development
Person-centred therapy is built on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine understanding.
Psychodynamic Therapy
This approach explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns may influence present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It can help uncover deeper emotional roots of current struggles.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours. It is particularly effective for anxiety, depression, and stress-related concerns.
By integrating these approaches, I can tailor sessions to best support your personal goals and emotional wellbeing.
